Not so Little Debby…

Tut-tut, it sure did rain–and is threatening to rain again!

Now, don’t get us wrong: we love listening to the rain, we truly enjoy sitting safe (and dry) on the porch watching downpours, and laugh with the children in our lives as they sport their umbrellas and splash in puddles.

Our beloved area needed the rain, desperately. And with that desperate need for rain comes some concerns and news…

  • Governor Rick Scott has declared a State of Emergency in the State of Florida. (courtesy of our friends at GTN News.)
  • A small animal control place is flooding, and sadly, it’s being reported that some animals have drowned. As of the last update, the  animals were being moved to the Alachua county fairgrounds. Read more on how to help here.
  • TV-20′s Paige Beck reports that we should all–
“Get ready for Mother Nature this week as Tropical Storm Debby moves across North Central Florida.
Bill says we can expect rain bands through the end of the week and wind gusts 25 to 30 mph. So take care with your lawn furniture etc. Also Bill says if you live in an area prone to sinkholes watch the ground for any changes..if you see a new indentation keep an eye on that area…we’ll update several new sinkholes tonight at 5:30 and 6:)”

And this photo is courtesy of our friend, TM. It was taken in Tioga.

How have you been faring Debby?
