Celebrating Independent Gainesville

30 hours of fun (or, “life as usual”)

The past 30 hours have been busy for us.

Yesterday, we stopped by Flashbacks Café to meet with Thrive Handicrafts. Two great indie businesses in one location at the same time? How much coolness can Gainesville take?

(Apparently, quite a bit!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Flashbacks and can’t wait to go back as their menu grows (although it’s already quite impressive).

After meeting with Thrive Handicrafts, we’re that much more in love with their products. Their dedication to quality and sustainability is admirable. Thrive’s write-up here will be forthcoming soon.
In the afternoon, we met with the gifted Bill Bryson of Grow Radio and brainstormed on—you guessed it—an indiegainesville Grow Radio show.

But this is our sticking point: We need a name for the show.

So we ask you: Please, submit any ideas you have. You will get credit, and our forever admiration.

This morning, we went farmers marketing, stopped by Weecycle, then grabbed a mid-morning snack at Uppercrust. We’re tempted to stop by the Co-op, but we KNOW that we’ll be at the Sunday Tailgating event tomorrow.

Enjoy your weekend, Gainesville!
