Indiegainesville came into existence in August of this year.
We were pleased and surprised by how quickly this site has grown. We’ve been averaging 6,000 + page views a day.
We couldn’t have done this without you, indiegainesville. Without the many awesome independent stores with their dedicated owners and employee, without the fabulous people willing to seek out independent stores and support them, and without the fact that there are so many unique people and cool places in Gainesville to write about, indiegainesville wouldn’t exist.
We’ve grown even closer to our local community as we’ve maintained this site. We know by name the people who make the jam we put on our bread for a peanut butter sandwich, who harvest the vegetables and fruits we eat. We know the folks that ring us up at the local grocery store and co-op. We can walk into a store and the person behind the counter can suggest a new book, new music, or a new vintage something they know we’ll like.
There are monthly craft markets, soaps, yarns, sweets, coffee shops, art . . . you get the idea.
We see how the community bands together in the face of adversity and tragedy.
Thank you, readers and supporters of indiegainesville, for making this possible.
This has been a year where we made many friendships, engaged in political debates, and learned that others share the same love for the community that moved us to start this.
2012 promises to be even better as we grow together.
Love you guys. Thanks for the constant inspiration.
