We tackled our chore list this weekend, which included “tend to herb garden.” We had been more than a little neglectful of our herb garden this summer. We’ll leave it at that.
This simple task is always complicated in the warmer, wetter weather by the fact that we are a rare delicacy upon which mosquitoes love to feast. Five minutes au naturale–sans chemicals, that is, not clothes–and we are left as one large, angry, itchy, red welt.
Fortunately, we had stopped at Ward’s (more to come on later date) and where we purchased Beat It!, a DEET-free insect repellant.
But will it work?
We ended up staying out longer than we intended, but when we reluctantly went inside to hydrate and cool off, we checked ourselves out.
No mosquito bites. No bug bites, period.
We also didn’t smell chemically. There was no residue on our skin.
Our unscientific field test proved Beat It! to be an effective insect repellant.
One of us even commented about not missing the urge to rinse off once the task at hand was completed.
We will buy this locally made, mosquito ass-kicking product again!
